Annemarie Tomei

Annemarie Tomei (born April 22, 1928 in Fallingbostel ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 1974 to 1978 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Tomei attended the secondary schools in Soltau and Walsrode . In the last two years of the war, she was employed in the health service. In 1946 she graduated from high school and, while waiting for a place at university, completed an apprenticeship as a tailor, which ended with the state examination in needlework. Until 1950 she worked as a technical teacher in Fallingbostel.

From 1951 to 1953 she studied law and political science , as well as youth psychology and languages ​​at the University of Hamburg . In 1953, she dropped out of college to focus on her family. She was a housewife until 1968, in between she stayed in Indonesia between 1954 and 1956 . During this time she published for various German and Dutch newspapers as a freelancer. In Indonesia she worked at the Medical School of the University Clinic in Semarang on Java as a language teacher for German and English.

In 1968 she joined the FDP and was a contract teacher at the central school in Fallingbostel until 1974. In 1972 she took a seminar course on "Modern Mathematics in School" at the Technical University of Hanover and in 1973 she passed the certificate examination in educational psychology. Since 1974 she has worked as a publishing editor in a school book publisher. From 1980 to 1991 she was the head of the Lower Saxony state image office (independent department S3 educational technologies in the Lower Saxony state administration office). During this time she initiated numerous exhibition projects on historical, cultural and media-related topics. In addition, the promotion of “active video work” in and out of school has been expanded to become a core area of ​​educational work.

Tomei was deputy chairwoman of the FDP district association Elbe-Weser and chairwoman of the DRK local association Fallingbostel. She was also a member of the Fallingbostel City Council. From 1974 to 1978 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in its eighth electoral term. During this electoral period, she was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group.
