Antenodal loader
Antenodal veins or antecubital veins are the veins that run in the wing of dragonflies between the costal vein and the radial vein and lie between the base of the wing and the nodus . They can be continuous or continue to run offset on the subcosta . While dragonflies ( Anisoptera ) have a different number of antenodal veins, small dragonflies ( Zygoptera ), with the exception of the family Calopterygidae, only have two antelnodal veins. In some genera , such as erythrodiplax and erythemis , the last antenodal loader is incomplete, so it only extends from the costalader to the subcosta. This feature can partly also be used to determine genera.
