Anthony Quinn Bay
Anthony Quinn Bay is now the common name for Vagies Bay ( Greek Όρμος Βαγίων Ormos Vagion ) on the east coast of the Greek island of Rhodes . It is located around 15 kilometers from the city of Rhodes and three kilometers from Faliraki in the direction of Lindos near Ladiko .
How the idyllically situated, hardly built-up, rocky bathing bay with crystal clear water got this name is not documented. However, the various stories agree that following the shooting of the film The Guns of Navarone (1961), which took place partly in the bay, the actor Anthony Quinn bought land here or it was given to him.
