Faliraki ( Greek Φαληράκι ( n. Sg. )) Is an important holiday resort on the Greek island of Rhodes . It is located around 18 kilometers from Rhodes Town on the east coast of the island.
Faliraki is one of the "tourist strongholds" of the island. The historical structure of the former Greek fishing village has largely given way to the tourism industry. However, there are some older, small, family-run hotels right next to the town of Faliraki, which are reminiscent of traditional Faliraki. To the north of Faliraki Bay is a rocky stretch of coast, behind which the well-known thermal baths of Kalithea are located, to the south are Ladiko and Anthony Quinn Bay .
Today's Faliraki is characterized in particular by the elongated, gently sloping sand / pebble beach that connects to the north of the old core of the former fishing village. Numerous hotels have been built near the beach since the late 1980s. The modern multi-storey hotels attracted restaurants, discos and many smaller shops. Water sports activities are offered on Faliraki Beach, so the hotels offer a variety of water sports, such as water and jet skiing , rowing , pedal and sailing boats as well as surfboards . There is also the Water Park in Faliraki .
Faliraki is well suited as a travel destination and starting point for further activities. B. a ferry service to Lindos instead. Bus lines pass through Faliraki and connect the place within around 20 minutes with Rhodes Town, the island's capital.
The airport is around 20 to 30 minutes away.
