The regional district of Rhodes ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Ρόδου Periferiaki Enotita Rodou ) is one of 13 regional districts in the Greek region of South Aegean . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from the ten municipalities of the island of Rhodes and four other island municipalities of the former Dodecanese prefecture and corresponds exactly to the area of ​​the former province of Rhodes, which existed until 1997. In proportion to its 120,889 inhabitants, the area sends 20 members to the regional council, but has no further political significance as a regional authority. Today it is divided into the five islands and municipalities of Chalki , Megisti , Rhodes , Symi and Tilos .
