Drama ( Greek Δράμα ) is one of the six regional districts of the Greek region of East Macedonia and Thrace  around the capital Drama . Until the Greek administrative reform in 2010 , it had the status of a prefecture, most recently as one of three prefecture areas (Ez. Gr. Nomarchiako diamerisma ) of the over-prefecture Drama-Kavala-Xanthi. The Drama regional district sends nine members to the regional council, but has no further political significance.

Drama includes the parishes of Doxato , Drama , Nevrokopi , Paranesti, and Prosotsani .
