The regional district Kea-Kythnos ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Κέας-Κύθνου Periferiaki Enotita Keas-Kythnou ) is one of 13 regional districts in the Greek region of South Aegean . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from two island communities of the former Cyclades prefecture and covers the area of the province of Kea, which existed until 1997. In proportion to its 3911 inhabitants, the area sends a representative to the regional council, but has no further political significance as a regional authority. It is divided into the two communities Kea and Kythnos .
