The regional district Kea-Kythnos ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Κέας-Κύθνου Periferiaki Enotita Keas-Kythnou ) is one of 13 regional districts in the Greek region of South Aegean . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from two island communities of the former Cyclades prefecture and covers the area of ​​the province of Kea, which existed until 1997. In proportion to its 3911 inhabitants, the area sends a representative to the regional council, but has no further political significance as a regional authority. It is divided into the two communities Kea and Kythnos .
