The Limnos regional district ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Λήμνου Periferiaki Enotita Limnou ) is one of five regional districts in the Greek North Aegean region . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from two island communities of the former prefecture of Lesbos and covers the area of the province of Limnos, which existed until 1997. In proportion to its 17,262 inhabitants, the area sends four members to the regional council, but has no further political significance as a local authority. It is divided into the two islands and communities of Agios Efstratios and Limnos .
