The Limnos regional district ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Λήμνου Periferiaki Enotita Limnou ) is one of five regional districts in the Greek North Aegean region . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from two island communities of the former prefecture of Lesbos and covers the area of ​​the province of Limnos, which existed until 1997. In proportion to its 17,262 inhabitants, the area sends four members to the regional council, but has no further political significance as a local authority. It is divided into the two islands and communities of Agios Efstratios and Limnos .
