The Athens South Regional District ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Νότιου Τομέα Αθηνών Periferiaki Enotita Notiou Tomea Athinon ) is one of eight regional districts in the Greek region of Attica . He was at the administrative reform in 2010 from numerous southern suburban communities in Athens prefecture District Athens formed. In proportion to its 529,826 inhabitants, the area sends 14 members to the Attic regional council, but has no further political significance as a regional authority. Today it is divided into the municipalities of Agios Dimitrios , Alimos , Elliniko-Argyroupoli , Glyfada, Kallithea , Moschato-Tavros , Nea Smyrni and Paleo Faliro .
