The Athens Center regional district ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Κεντρικού Τομέα Αθηνών Periferiaki Enotita Kendrikou Tomea Athinon ) is one of eight regional districts in the Greek region of Attica . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from the municipality of Athens and some neighboring municipalities in the Athens prefectural district. In proportion to its 1,029,520 inhabitants, the area sends 30 members to the Attic regional council, but has no further political significance as a regional authority. It is divided into the municipalities of Athens , Dafni-Ymittos , Filadelfia-Chalkidona , Galatsi , Ilioupoli , Kesariani , Vyronas and Zografos .
