Anthony Henday

Anthony Henday was a British explorer who led an expedition into the interior of Canada on behalf of the Hudson's Bay Company . Starting from Fort York on June 26, 1754, he traveled west with Cree Indians on their way home. He penetrated deep into the Canadian prairie and traveled to what is now the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan . After spending the winter with the Indians, he reached his starting point Fort York again in June 1755.
