Antoine Choueiri

Antoine Choueiri (* 1939 ; † March 9, 2010 in Beirut ) was a Lebanese media mogul .

Life

He was regarded as the architect of the modern media industry in the Middle East. He founded the Antoine Choueiri group. She has over 35 years of experience specifically with television and radio broadcasts.

He founded his first advertising agency in 1970 in Lebanon. During the Lebanese civil war, he built up his group and business in Paris . He had his first office in Saudi Arabia before moving to Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates. Today the group has 11 country offices and 14 offices that distribute advertising on more than 30 television and radio channels, print media and billboards. He was a representative at Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation LBC Sat, Al Jazeera network, Al Hayat , Dubai Media Inc. and Al-Safir and An-Nahar .

He was president of the La Sagesse sports club, and he was particularly interested in basketball. Choueiri was considered one of the most important business people in the Middle East. After a long illness (cancer), he died on March 9, 2010 in the Hôtel-Dieu clinic in Beirut. He was buried in Bsharri . He was married to Rose Salamé; the two children Pierre and Lena continue to run the company.
