The Anton Benya Park in Argentinierstraße the 4th Vienna district Wieden is one of the Labor in honor of Vienna Anton Benya called and opened on 1 June 1990 Vienna park.

prehistory

The park and palace of Nathaniel Meyer Freiherr von Rothschild (1836–1905) have been located here since the 19th century . During the Second World War, the Nathaniel Rothschild Palace was used as a Gestapo prison. After 1945 it was acquired by the Vienna Chamber of Labor and demolished. In its place was built in 1951/52 according to plans by Roland Rainer, the Franz-Domes-Heim , after its demolition due to dilapidation finally the Adolf-Coppel-Bildungszentrum of the Chamber of Labor (construction period 1985-1989) with Theater Akzent and the 1990 opened Anton-Benya -Park were built.

layout

The park has a basketball and soccer field. The green areas can be used for picnics. The park is closed overnight.
