activities

Jordan began as a developer at the British company Goodmans Industries of Wembley , which at the time developed and manufactured its own loudspeakers. From 1963, his own company, Jordan-Watts Ltd, became a pioneer for metal membrane loudspeakers. He founded his current company in 1975 and has been called EJ Jordan Designs since 1982 . In 1991 the German speaker developer Karl-Heinz Fink, at the time also co-owner of the German loudspeaker manufacturer "ALR", became aware of the metal membranes. A cooperation with ALR, which from 1996 called itself ALR Jordan , gradually began . In 2007 the EJJordan business was taken over by Esoteric Audio Designs (EAD), a Swedish manufacturer. This is where the Jordan metal cone full range loudspeakers continue to be manufactured. Ted Jordan still works as a consultant for EAD after 50 years of loudspeaker development.

Jordan wrote several articles in which he presented the theory of loudspeaker technology in mathematical detail.
