Anton Gangl (born February 18, 1964 ) is a Styrian fruit farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). Gangl was a member of the Styrian Landtag from 2000 to 2019 .

Life

Gangl attended elementary school in Tieschen from 1970 to 1974 and continued his education from 1974 to 1978 at the secondary school in Sankt Anna am Aigen . He then graduated from the technical college for fruit growing in Gleisdorf from 1979 to 1981 and in 1983 served the military service at the Bad Radkersburg staff company , before taking the master's examination in fruit growing in 1986. Gangl works as a fruit grower in Tieschen.

After Gangl had been involved as district chairman of the rural youth between 1983 and 1986, he became federal chairman of the fruit growers in 1997 and in 1996 took over the office of vice mayor and community treasurer of the community of Tieschen. In 2000 he was also elected district party chairman of the ÖVP Radkersburg and from 2000 represented the ÖVP as a member of the state parliament. Gangl held the position of area spokesman for sport within the state parliament club. After the state elections in 2019 , he left the state parliament.
