List of members of the Styrian state parliament (XIV legislative period)

This list of the members of the Styrian Landtag (XIVth legislative period) lists all the members of the Styrian Landtag in the XIVth legislative period. The legislative period lasted from November 7th, 2000 to October 25th, 2005. The swearing-in of the deputies took place in the first session on October 25th, 2005, in which the state government Klasnic II was elected and sworn in.

After the state elections in 2000 , 27 of the 56 seats went to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), 19 to the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), 7 to the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) and 3 to the Greens - The Green Alternative (Greens) . While the ÖVP was able to achieve strong profits and the Greens slight profits, the SPÖ and FPÖ lost seats, while the Liberal Forum was thrown out of the state parliament at all.

Functions

Landtag President

Reinhold Purr (ÖVP) was elected to the position of 1st President of the State Parliament on November 7, 2000 with 56 of 56 votes cast. Anna Rieder (SPÖ) received 55 out of 55 valid votes when she was elected 2nd President of the State Parliament with one invalid vote, while the 3rd State Parliament President Hans Kinsky (ÖVP) received 53 of 53 valid votes with three invalid votes.

Club chairmen

After the state parliament session on November 7, 2000, four state parliament clubs were constituted and their club chairmen were announced at the session on November 28. Governor Waltraud Klasnic took over the role of club chairman within the ÖVP state parliament club, while Reinhold Lopatka was the managing club chairman . Franz Riebenbauer , Franz Majcen and Kurt Tasch were elected as his deputies . Deputy Governor Peter Schachner-Blazizek led the club of SPÖ members of the state parliament . He was supported by Siegfried Stepwieser as managing club chairman, his deputies were Kurt Gennaro and Heinz Grabner . The FPÖ club chairman was Franz Lafer , Waltraud Dietrich was the first deputy and Karl Wiedner was the second deputy . The Greens ' chairwoman was Ingrid Lechner-Sonnek , her deputy was Edith Zitz .
