Kurt Flecker

Kurt Flecker (born December 21, 1947 in Graz ) is an Austrian state politician ( SPÖ ) in Styria .

Kurt Flecker completed a law degree and received his doctorate in 1970. From 1988 to 1990 he was the managing director of the Styrian state holding.

Political career

1990–1991 Flecker was the regional manager of the SPÖ-Styria. He was a member of the Styrian Landtag from 1991 to 2000 and chairman of the Landtag Club from 1996 to 2000. The office of Landesrats had he held as of November 7, 2000 and the second from October 25, 2005 Governor -Stellvertreter of Styria . He was responsible for social affairs, culture and work in the Vove state government .

In September 2009 the state government was reorganized. State Parliament President Siegfried Stepwieser became State Councilor and Kurt Flecker was elected President of the State Parliament on September 22, 2009 with the votes of the SPÖ and KPÖ . The ÖVP did not want to support the change and supported the candidate Edith Zitz , who was nominated by the GREENS . ÖVP club boss Christopher Drexler praised Flecker as "one of the most prominent politicians of social democracy in the country", who also set accents as a cultural advisor, but does not want to "nod off" Governor Franz Voves ' personnel raids a year before the new elections . Flecker was elected President of the State Parliament with 29 out of 56 votes. At the constituent session of the state parliament after the state elections in Styria in 2010 , on October 21, 2010, Kurt Flecker no longer stood for election and made room for his party colleague Manfred Wegscheider . However, his farewell speech attracted more media interest than his successor's inaugural speech.

From 1993 to 2005 Flecker was the chairman of the SPÖ district party organization in Liezen .
