Annemarie Zdarsky

Annemarie Zdarsky [ ˈzdarski ] (born March 3, 1928 in Ligist , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Annemarie Zdarsky grew up in Leibnitz , where she completed elementary and secondary school until 1942 . After a year at a home economics school in Graz , she switched to the commercial academy , where she graduated from high school in 1946 . From 1947 to 1949 she was a student at a nursing school. As a qualified nurse, she worked at various hospitals in Styria, most recently at the LKH University Clinic in Graz , where she most recently headed the staff of the women's clinic as head nurse. In 1954 she worked at a hospital in Sweden as part of an exchange program of the World Health Organization (WHO) .

In November 1973 Zdarsky was sworn in for the SPÖ as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . She remained a Federal Councilor until June 1976. In the same year, she entered the Styrian Landtag as an SP mandate . In July 1980 she was elected as the second President of the State Parliament, a position she held until 1989.
