Manuela Khom
Manuela Khom (born Manuela Hauser on June 7, 1963 in Eisenstadt ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She has been a member of the Styrian State Parliament since 2010 and President of the State Parliament since December 17, 2019 .
politics
Khom made her political start in 1995 as a councilor in the municipality of Laßnitz near Murau . She held this function until the independent municipality was dissolved due to the Styrian municipal structural reform on December 31, 2014. From 2000 she was also the community treasurer on the community board.
Khom has been district leader of the ÖVP women's movement since 2003 and district party leader of the Styrian ÖVP in the Murau district since 2009 . On October 27, 2014, she was elected as the successor to Kristina Edlinger-Ploder as female executive director of the Styrian ÖVP and on January 10, 2015, with 99.95 percent of the votes, as female director of the Styrian ÖVP.
Khom was sworn in on November 9, 2010 in the state parliament. There she is the women's spokeswoman for the ÖVP. She gave her first speech in the state parliament on January 18, 2011.
After the state elections in 2019 , it followed at the beginning of the XVIII. Legislative period on December 17, 2019 after Gabriele Kolar as President of the State Parliament .
education and profession
Khom attended elementary school in Breitenbrunn am Neusiedler See and the secondary school in Purbach am Neusiedler See . Then she graduated from the commercial academy in Eisenstadt. In 1983/84 she completed an introductory course for machine data processing at the higher federal teaching and research institute and in 1985 a course for wage accounting for small businesses at the Economic Development Institute (WIFI). In 1999 she attended the WIFI Entrepreneur Academy and passed the Entrepreneurship Examination at the Chamber of Commerce . In 1999/2000 she acquired the higher qualification as a trainer in adult education.
Private
The member of the state parliament lives in Styrian Lassnitz, a place in the municipality of Murau . She is married and has a daughter and a son.
