Nicholas Swatek

Nicholas "Niko" Swatek (* January 5, 1991 in Graz , Styria ) is an Austrian politician of NEOS . Since April 2017 he has been the only member of his party in the Graz municipal council . He has been state spokesman for NEOS Styria since May 2017. He has been a member of the Styrian state parliament since December 17, 2019 .

Life

Nikolaus Swatek grew up in Graz, where he graduated from compulsory schools. After graduating from the BORG Monsbergergasse in 2009 , he studied technical physics at the Graz University of Technology . In 2015 he received his bachelor's degree .

Nikolaus Swatek became politically active at an early age; From 2015 to 2017 he was the Styrian state chairman of JUNOS - Young Liberal NEOS , the NEOS youth organization. He has been state spokesman for NEOS Styria since May 2017. In the 2017 National Council election , he ran for the Austrian National Council .

In October 2019 he was elected NEOS top candidate for the state elections in Styria 2019 .
