Sandra Holasek , previously Sandra Wallner-Liebmann , (* 1968 as Sandra Johanna Wallner ) is an Austrian nutritionist and politician ( ÖVP ). Holasek has been an associate professor at the Institute for Pathophysiology and Immunology at the Medical University of Graz since 2010 . She has been a member of the Styrian Landtag since 2015 .

Life

Sandra Holasek studied after graduation in Furstenfeld from 1987 Nutritional Sciences at the University of Vienna . She completed her studies in 1992 with a thesis on nutrition and illness: the problem of nutrient intake in hospitals; Menu analysis at the LKH-Fürstenfeld (Styria) . From 1993 she completed her doctoral studies at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz , in 1999 she did her doctorate at the University of Vienna with a dissertation on the effect of an intensified lifestyle modification on the further course of coronary heart disease in patients after elective PTCA . 2004 habilitated it relates to the field of pathophysiology.

Since 2010 she has been an associate professor at the Institute for Pathophysiology and Immunology at the Medical University of Graz , where she heads the research unit Nutrition and Metabolism . Since 2013 she has been the Vice President of the Austrian Society for Sports Nutrition , and since 2015 she has also been the Vice President of the Austrian Society for Nutrition .

politics

After the state elections in 2015 she was elected on June 16, 2015 as a member of the Styrian state parliament of the XVII. Legislative period promised. In the state parliament she acts as a spokesperson for science and research as well as culture. After the state election in 2019 , she was in the second session of the XVIII. Legislative period on January 21, 2020 once again sworn in as a member of the state parliament. She succeeded an ÖVP government member of the Schützenhöfer II state government formed in December 2019 .
