The state government Schützenhöfer II is the Styrian state government formed after the state elections in Styria in 2019 . The coalition government made up of the SPÖ and ÖVP was presented on December 16, 2019 by Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer as the “white-green coalition”. The election and swearing-in took place on December 17 of 2019.

history

The Styrian SPÖ chairman and deputy governor Michael Schickhofer announced his resignation the day after the election. The coalition negotiations were led by Anton Lang on the part of the SPÖ .

The SPÖ gave up a seat of government to the state government Schützenhöfer I , Juliane Bogner-Strauss became the new state councilor , who received the additional fifth ÖVP seat of government.

Schützenhöfer also took over security, Bogner-Strauss took over health care from Christopher Drexler and education from the SPÖ, Drexler is responsible for culture and folk culture, personnel, Europe and sport. Barbara Eibinger-Miedl remained State Councilor for Economic Affairs, Johann Seitinger remained State Councilor for Agriculture and Forestry. Anton Lang remained Finance and Transport Councilor and also became Deputy Governor. Ursula Lackner is responsible for the environment and climate protection, Doris Kampus remained the social state councilor . The regional department was shared between the ÖVP and the SPÖ.

The division of responsibilities was decided at the constituent government meeting on December 19, 2019.
