State government Klasnic I
The state government Klasnic I was elected by the Styrian state parliament on January 23, 1996 following the state elections in Styria in 1995 . The state government was in office until the state government of Klasnic II took office, which was sworn in on November 7, 2000. The mandates were awarded according to the proportional system; accordingly, the ÖVP and SPÖ each had four seats and the FPÖ one seat.
The only personnel change during the legislative period concerned the member of the government of the FPÖ. Michael Schmid was appointed to the Federal Government Schüssel I on February 4, 2000 , while Magda Bleckmann took over his mandate in the state government .
