State government Pirchegger
The state government of Pirchegger was elected by the Styrian state parliament on December 28, 1945 after the first free state parliament election in Styria after the Second World War . It existed until the resignation of Governor Anton Pirchegger (ÖVP) on July 6, 1948. According to the proportional system , five SPÖ mandates were awarded in addition to the five ÖVP mandates . The KPÖ lost its participation in the government.
A large proportion of the state councils were newly appointed. Only Reinhard Machold , Fritz Matzner and Norbert Horvatek (all SPÖ) and Governor Anton Pirchegger (ÖVP) were represented as state councilors in the previous provisional state government.
There were some personnel changes during the legislative period . Engelbert Rückl (SPÖ) joined as regional councilor on March 25, 1946, followed four days later by regional councilor Ludwig Oberzaucher (SPÖ).
