Ludwig Oberzaucher

Ludwig Oberzaucher (born August 24, 1881 in Graz , † October 28, 1957 ) was an Austrian banker and politician ( SPÖ ). Oberzaucher was regional councilor in the Styrian regional government from 1920 to 1934 and from 1946 to 1950 .

Oberzaucher was born in Graz and worked as a typesetter at home and abroad until 1902. Between 1902 and 1905 Oberzaucher was in active military service, after which he worked as a proofreader until 1914. After the outbreak of the First World War, Oberzaucher served in the military between 1914 and 1918 and was a soldier's council between 1918 and 1919 after the end of the First World War . In 1919 Oberzaucher took over the position of deputy managing director of a newspaper publisher and was bank director from 1920 to 1934. In addition, Oberzaucher represented the Social Democratic Workers' Party from November 26, 1920 as a state councilor in the Styrian state government. After the outbreak of the Austrian civil war, Oberzaucher lost his office as regional councilor on February 12, 1934 and also lost his position as bank director. He was also arrested in 1934 for political reasons. After the loss of his functions, Oberzaucher worked between 1935 and 1945 as an insurance agent, car entrepreneur, accountant and auditor.

After the end of the Second World War, Oberzaucher took over the office of Sparkasse President in 1945. He was also re-elected to the state government on March 29, 1946, of which he was a member until February 15, 1950. Oberzaucher was married from 1908 and had three sons and two daughters.
