Tobias Udier

Tobias Udier (born July 21, 1911 in Donawitz ; † September 16, 1985 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician of the ÖVP .

life and career

Tobias Udier was born in 1911 as the son of a miner in the then still independent Donawitz. He studied at the Montanistische Hochschule in Leoben and was employed by the Alpine Montangesellschaft in Eisenerz . On December 28, 1945 he was appointed as a representative of the ÖAAB in the Styrian state government, to which he was a deputy governor until May 31, 1963. Udier was a long-time cultural advisor to the state government.

In 1948 he was discussed as the successor to Governor Anton Pirchegger , but was defeated in an internal vote against Josef Krainer senior .

Udier was a member of the K.Ö.HV Carolina Graz in the ÖCV .
