State government Josef Krainer senior III
The state government Josef Krainer senior III formed the Styrian state government under Josef Krainer senior in III. Legislative period . The state government was elected by the Styrian state parliament on April 15, 1953 and subsequently sworn in. The state government consisted of nine people, with government seats being allocated in the proportional system after the state elections in 1953 . After the result of the state elections, the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) each had four members in the government, and another member was sent by the Independent Party (WdU). The state government Josef Krainer senior III was in office until April 9, 1957 and was replaced on that day by the state government Josef Krainer senior IV .
The Josef Krainer senior III government entered the new government almost unchanged from the previous Krainer II government. There was only a change within the WdU, with Anton Stephan replacing the previous Provincial Councilor Josef Elsnitz . During the reign there were two changes in the state government. After Udo Illig (ÖVP) was appointed Federal Minister for Trade and Reconstruction, he resigned on May 13, 1953 and was replaced by Karl Brunner on May 15, 1953 . After Reinhard Machold (SPÖ) resigned as Deputy Governor on January 21, 1954, the previous Provincial Councilor Norbert Horvatek was elected as the new Deputy Governor on January 30, 1954. Alfred Schachner-Blazizek was sworn in as a new member of the government on January 27th.
Josef Krainer senior received 46 out of 48 votes cast in the secret election for governor, whereby one ballot paper remained empty and one vote was against him. The provincial governor's deputies and the provincial councilors, however, were elected in an open vote.
