Doris Kampus (born April 26, 1967 in Köflach ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and since June 16, 2015 regional councilor in the Styrian state government Schützenhöfer I and Schützenhöfer II .

education and profession

Kampus attended elementary school in Köflach between 1973 and 1977 and then switched to the local grammar school, which she graduated with the Matura in 1985 . From 1985 she studied at the Karl Franzens University in Graz at the Institute for Translation and Interpreter Training. This study concluded campus in 1991 with the graduation to Magistra of Philosophy from. She did not finish her law studies, which began in 1993.

Kampus began her professional life from 1991 to 1994 with a logistics company and then completed an internship at the Commission of the European Union in the General Directorate for Labor, Employment and Social Policy in 1994 . Subsequently, in 1995 she was a member of the parliament at Heidrun Silhavy and from 1996 to 2001 managing director of the EU Regional Management Obersteiermark Ost GmbH. From 2001 to 2008 she worked as an independent management consultant with a focus on regional development and project management. In August 2008, Kampus switched to the public service, where she was the department head for regional and community development in the Styrian regional government's office until June 2015, and was instrumental in the structural reform of the community .

Political career

Since June 16, 2015, Kampus has been a regional councilor in the Styrian state government, responsible for social affairs, work and integration.

In addition to her role as regional councilor, Kampus is also active in important political bodies of the SPÖ. For example, she is a member of the SPÖ federal party executive, the state executive of the Styrian SPÖ and the regional executive boards of the SPÖ Graz and the SPÖ Graz-Umgebung / Voitsberg.

In addition, Kampus has been chairwoman of the BSA Styria since June 2016 , regional women chairwoman of the SPÖ Graz since 2018 and vice-president of the BSA since January 2019 .

Private

Kampus is married and has three children.
