history
Due to the proportional representation system , after the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 on January 28, 2018, there are six representatives of the ÖVP, two of the SPÖ and one regional councilor of the FPÖ in the state government.
On March 6, 2018, the ÖVP reached a separate labor agreement with the SPÖ and the FPÖ. These were negotiated for the ÖVP by the president of the local authority, Alfred Riedl, and the state manager Bernhard Ebner , while the chief negotiator for the Social Democrats was the designated club chairman, Reinhard Hundsmüller . On March 8, 2018, the labor agreements of the ÖVP, SPÖ and FPÖ were presented; the focus of the agreements was on the topics of work, mobility, health and family. In addition, the division of responsibilities in the state government was determined. Together with a member of the ÖVP government, the SPÖ continues to be responsible for health and social affairs, as well as for matters relating to construction and water law and community supervision, rescue services, consumer protection and youth welfare. In addition to animal welfare and community doctors, Gottfried Waldhäusl (FPÖ) should also be responsible for the areas of asylum and minimum income. On March 9, 2018, Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister and Martin Eichtinger were presented as new members of the ÖVP government team. As a regional councilor, Teschl should be responsible for families, social affairs, youth and education. However, she does not become an ÖVP party member. Eichtinger is to be responsible for the areas of housing, labor market, Europe and regional policy.
Barbara Schwarz left the government team. The previous Provincial Councilor, Karl Wilfing, succeeded Hans Penz as President of the Landtag. The previous Deputy Governor Karin Renner succeeded Franz Gartner as Third President of the State Parliament. Tillmann Fuchs (formerly Team Stronach, later non- party) is also no longer a member of the state government .
The constituent meeting of the Lower Austrian Parliament took place on March 22, 2018. After the swearing-in of MPs, the Parliament Bureau, the Provincial Governor, the two Landeshauptfrau deputies, Landesrätinnen and provincial councils and the members and alternate members of was Bundesrat voted, as well as other MPs sworn in by the Nachbesetzung of freed mandates by the change in the state government.
On December 20, 2019, it was announced that at the end of February 2020 Jochen Danninger will succeed Petra Bohuslav , who has been appointed Commercial Director of the Vienna State Opera by Federal Minister Alexander Schallenberg , as Provincial Councilor. Danninger was elected and sworn in on February 27, 2020.
