Tillmann Fuchs

Tillmann Fuchs (born May 7, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian media manager and former politician ( TS , most recently non-party ). From 2015 to 2018 he was regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government , responsible for building law and events.

Professional background

Tillmann Fuchs grew up as one of 16 children of the famous painter Ernst Fuchs in Vienna. After completing an apprenticeship as a car mechanic, he began his journalistic career at the Kronen Zeitung , where he wrote car test reports from 1984. Fuchs then took part as a political editor in the founding and development of the weekly newspaper The Whole Week by Kurt Falk . From 1988 he was head of politics and economics for the whole week, from 1990 involved in the concept, marketing and sales of the daily newspaper Alles . In 1991 he became the publishing director and head of advertising for both papers under the leadership of Kurt Falk.

From 1993 to 1999, Tillmann Fuchs subsequently worked for the German television broadcaster RTL Television , initially as press officer, but from 1995 in the chief editor . In 1999, Fuchs was appointed managing director of an investor consortium that aimed to set up the first private television broadcaster in Austria. In 2002 the time had come and the ATV channel, managed by Fuchs, was able to obtain its first Austria-wide private television license. Shortly before the television station was actually seen in all Austrian households in 2003, however, Fuchs left the station because of different views on the direction of the program.

From 2003 to 2007 he took over the management of Ernst Fuchs Werksvermittlung GmbH , which managed his father and his works. After completing an MBA executive program at the Imadec private university in cooperation with the University of Texas at Austin, Fuchs wrote his master's thesis in 2006 at the IMADEC private university in Vienna on the business model of the private radio station Rockradio, which he has also managed since 1997 . Most recently he headed a private management consultancy named Mindcraft Tillmann Fuchs Unternehmensberatung .

Tillmann Fuchs has been Senior Vice President Corporate Communications at Flughafen Wien AG since January 1, 2020.

Political career

As part of his work as managing director of Ernst Fuchs Werksvermittlung GmbH , Tillmann Fuchs, according to his own statements, met the Austrian-Canadian entrepreneur Frank Stronach in 2007 , who initially hired him for a theme park project. During the following six years at Frank Stronach, Fuchs held several management positions in various areas of Stronach's corporate environment.

When the party founded by Stronach Team Stronach announced in the national election in 2013 to want to run, Tillmann Fuchs was engaged as campaign manager. He took up his first political activity and ran for second place on the list in Lower Austria. After he succeeded in entering the Austrian National Council, but the very high goals set by Frank Stronach in the election were not achieved, Fuchs resigned from the political activities in the Stronach team after the election.

After the Lower Austrian Provincial Councilor Elisabeth Kaufmann-Bruckberger resigned in the spring of 2015 due to her alleged involvement in the Carinthian Seenkauf affair, Tillmann Fuchs was nominated as her successor by the Lower Austrian State Parliament Club . In the state parliament session on May 21, 2015, he was sworn in as the new state councilor with a surprisingly high approval of the state parliament, namely a two-thirds majority.
