Petra Bohuslav (born August 24, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian manager and former politician ( ÖVP ). Bohuslav was regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government from December 21, 2004 to February 27, 2020 . From September 2020 she will be commercial director of the Vienna State Opera under Bogdan Roščić .

Life

Bohuslav graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and received her doctorate in 1991. Before that she had gained international experience in Florida and Denmark . After completing her studies, she started her professional career in marketing and worked for Rail Tours Austria from 1991 to 1994. In 1995 she worked for Rogner International Hotels & Resorts, between 1996 and 2001 as managing director for the Carnuntum Archaeological Park and from 1998 also for the ARGE Donauland. Before she got into politics, she worked from 2001 as managing director for the Congress Casino Baden . She initiated the “Undine Film Days” in Baden and an awards ceremony for young actors and filmmakers. Bohuslav has been a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government since December 21, 2004 after Liese Prokop moved to the federal government. Bohuslav initially held the department for labor, social affairs, sport and culture and between April 11, 2008 and February 26, 2009 took over the areas of youth, education and sport. Since February 26, 2009 she has been in charge of the Economy, Technology and Tourism department.

On December 20, 2019, it was announced that she would succeed Jochen Danninger as member of the state council at the end of February 2020 . Bohuslav was appointed commercial director of the Vienna State Opera by Federal Minister Alexander Schallenberg . Danninger was elected and sworn to the state council on February 27, 2020. Doris Berger-Grabner was nominated as her successor as regional director of the ÖVP Women Lower Austria at the end of February 2020 .
