Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister (born November 29, 1973 in Graz , Styria as Christiane Teschl ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and since March 22, 2018, State Councilor in the Lower Austrian Provincial Government Mikl-Leitner II . In future, she will also be the chairwoman of the Lower Austrian Workers' Federation (NÖAAB).

Before moving into politics, she was a journalist and presenter at ORF . From 2010 to 2015 Teschl was editor-in-chief of the ORF regional studio in Lower Austria .

Life and Journalistic Career

Teschl attended elementary school and grammar school in Graz. From 1988 she completed the restoration and site maintenance branch of the Higher Technical College in Krems . She then studied journalism, theater studies and art history at the University of Vienna and graduated with a master's degree .

From 1998 Christiane Teschl worked for the current service of the ORF regional studio in Lower Austria. In addition to designing radio and television programs, she was the presenter and head of the service for the television program Niederösterreich heute. From 2003 she was also responsible for the editorial management of the internet presence of ORF Lower Austria.

On January 15, 2010, she was appointed editor-in-chief of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation in Lower Austria by ORF General Director Alexander Wrabetz at the suggestion of Regional Director Norbert Gollinger . She took over this task from Richard Grasl , who was close to the ÖVP and became commercial director of ORF in mid-December 2009. In September 2015 she was succeeded by Robert Ziegler after Teschl moved to the ORF center to work on the ORF early television project team ( Guten Morgen Österreich ).

Political career

On March 9, 2018 it was announced that Teschl would become the Lower Austrian ÖVP state councilor as the successor to Barbara Schwarz . But it remains independent . On March 22, 2018 (constitution of the new Lower Austrian Landtag), Teschl became a Nö. Regional councilor elected by the state parliament and sworn in by state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

Private

She has been married since 2004 and has a daughter (* 2011) and a son (* 2014). She lives in Krems an der Donau .

Awards

In 2012, she received the Gold Medal of Merit of the Lower Austrian Fire Brigade Association 1st Class from the Lower Austrian Fire Brigade Commander Josef Buchta .
