State government Steinböck I
The provincial government Steinböck I formed the Lower Austrian provincial government during the fourth legislative period from the election of the previous provincial councilor Johann Steinböck (ÖVP) as the new governor of Lower Austria on May 5, 1949 to the end of the legislative period on July 6, 1949. The election had become necessary after the previous governor Josef Reither resigned from office on May 2, 1949. Viktor Müllner (ÖVP) moved up as the new regional councilor on May 5, 1949. After the death of Johann Haller (ÖVP) on May 9, 1949, Johann Waltner was elected to the State Council on May 19, 1949.
