from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The provincial government Maurer I formed the Lower Austrian provincial government during the second half of the eighth legislative period from the election of Andreas Maurer as governor on October 24, 1966 to the end of the legislative period on July 19, 1969. It followed the provincial government Figl II . After the death of Eduard Hartmann on October 14, 1966, Andreas Maurer was elected as the new governor on October 24, 1966. As a result, Matthias Bierbaum took over as the new regional councilor that day . The first change in the composition of the government came on December 20, 1967, when Roman Resch (ÖVP) resigned from his position as regional councilor. He was replaced on January 25, 1968 by Siegfried Ludwig . After the death of Deputy Governor Otto Tschadek (SPÖ) on February 4, 1969, Hans Coppel was elected as the SPÖ's new Deputy Governor on February 13, 1969.
