Rudolf Hirsch (politician)

Rudolf Hirsch (born November 24, 1903 in Stockerau ; † August 19, 1984 ibid) was an Austrian master shoemaker and politician ( ÖVP ). Hirsch was a member of the Lower Austria state parliament , a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian state government and, from 1963 to 1969 , deputy governor in Lower Austria . From 1971 to 1972 he was chairman of the board of directors and in 1982, for a short time, chairman of the board of directors of the general building society of Austrian cooperatives .

Life, education and work

After completing compulsory school, Hirsch learned the trade of a shoemaker and subsequently worked as an independent master shoemaker. He did military service during the Second World War and was taken prisoner. After the end of the war, as before the war, Hirsch worked as a vocational school teacher from 1945 to 1946 and was elected regional guild master in 1950. Hirsch was awarded the professional title of Commercial Councilor.

Political career

Hirsch was elected to Stockerau's municipal council in 1948 and was promoted to city council in 1950. Between 1959 and 1975 he held the office of 2nd Vice Mayor of Stockerau and from June 4, 1959 he represented the ÖVP in the state parliament. On January 28, 1960, Hirsch was sworn in as regional councilor and on January 24, 1963, he was promoted to deputy governor. On November 20, 1969, Hirsch resigned from his position as MP and member of government.
