The provincial government Pröll II formed the Lower Austrian provincial government during the XIV legislative period from June 7, 1993 to April 16, 1998. The government followed the Pröll I provincial government . After the state elections on May 16, 1993 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) provided five government members, the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) provided three government members and had to give up a seat in the state government to the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). Johann Bauer (SPÖ) subsequently left the state government and had to hand over his seat of government to the FPÖ politician Hans Jörg Schimanek .
