Ewald Wagner (politician)

Ewald Wagner (born December 7, 1941 in Stockerau ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Wagner was a member of the Lower Austrian regional parliament and from 1991 to 1998 a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government .

After elementary school, Wagner attended secondary school and business school before working as an industrial employee between 1957 and 1969. In 1970 he became district party secretary of the SPÖ and in the same year he was elected to the Stockerau municipal council. In 1972 he was promoted to the city council and between 1984 and 1985 he held the office of vice mayor. In addition, between 1980 and 1985 he was the head of operations at Volkshilfe Niederösterreich and from 1985 to 1991 SPÖ regional party secretary. Wagner was sworn in as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament on April 19, 1979, and on July 11, 1991, he moved to the Lower Austrian state government as a regional councilor, to which he was a member until April 16, 1998.
