Traude Votruba

Traude Votruba (born October 10, 1942 in Felixdorf ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Votruba was a member of the Federal Council and from 1981 to 1999 regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government .

education and profession

Votruba attended elementary school in Felixdorf from 1948 to 1952 and then switched to the local secondary school. Between 1956 and 1960 Votruba graduated from the higher federal college for economic women's professions in Baden, which she graduated with the Matura. Votruba then worked from 1960 to 1961 as a hotel secretary at the Berghotel Patscherkofel and from 1961 to 1963 as a typist at the State Labor Office for Lower Austria. She was also a career counselor at the Wiener Neustadt employment office from 1963 to 1971 .

politics

Votruba was a member of the Felixdorf municipal council between 1970 and 1985 and represented the SPÖ Lower Austria in the Federal Council between June 21, 1979 and April 7, 1981. After the Lower Austrian provincial government was increased from seven to nine members, Votruba was elected to the SPÖ on April 9, 1981, to which she was a member until November 18, 1999. Votruba, who resigned from her office for health reasons, was also the district chairwoman of the SPÖ Wiener Neustadt for women from 1982, deputy district party chairwoman in Wiener Neustadt and, from 1987, the federal women chairwoman and deputy chairwoman of the SPÖ Lower Austria. After leaving politics, Votruba became honorary chairman of the SPÖ women in Lower Austria.
