Johann Haller (politician)

Johann Haller (born June 19, 1883 in Oberlaa ; † May 9, 1949 in Vienna ) was an Austrian innkeeper, farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). Haller was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian state government .

Haller completed an apprenticeship in the hospitality industry and was taken prisoner by Russia during the First World War. After his return from the war, he settled in Sollenau , where he worked as an innkeeper and farmer. From May 21, 1932 to October 30, 1934, he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and between December 15, 1933 and March 12, 1938, he held the office of regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government. After the National Socialists came to power, Haller was arrested in 1938. After the end of the Second World War, Haller held the office of regional council in the Lower Austrian regional government between December 12, 1945 and May 9, 1949.

He died after a long and serious illness at the General Hospital of Vienna .
