Reinhard Hundsmüller (2015)

Reinhard Hundsmüller (born August 3, 1956 in Walpersbach , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ), former police officer and since 2018 club chairman of the SPÖ in the Lower Austrian state parliament . From 2017 to 2018 he was regional manager of the SPÖ Lower Austria .

Since 2005 he has also been the federal manager (federal secretary and managing director) of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Austria (ASBÖ).

Career

After completing compulsory schooling and attending the Federal Trade Academy, Hundsmüller joined the Austrian Federal Police in August 1974, completed various basic and special training courses at the Federal Police Directorate in Vienna and in Wiener Neustadt until 1992 and had various management functions - such as B. Commander of a mobile task force. In September 1992 Hundsmüller was transferred to the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior, where he worked as an organizational and personnel officer. At the same time, between 1992 and 1998 he completed part-time training for legal service in the federal service.

On January 1, 2000, Hundsmüller became Chief of Staff of the Director General for Public Security, and one year later he was also appointed head of the Legal and Policy Department of the General Directorate for Public Security (GDföS). On December 1, 2002, he became head of the Department for Counter-Espionage and Counter-Terrorism in the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counter-Terrorism (State Security Department). On January 1, 2003, he was appointed Ministerial Councilor .

On April 1, 2005, Reinhard Hundsmüller was appointed as the successor to Dagmar Strauss as federal manager (federal secretary and manager) of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Austria. Hundsmüller focused more on growth and made the ASBÖ one of the largest rescue and social organizations in Austria.

In April 2018 he was designated as the SPÖ district chairman of Wiener Neustadt and elected in May 2018.
