Anton Kasser (born May 27, 1963 in Amstetten ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). He has been the mayor of Allhartsberg since 1995 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2009 .

Life

Kasser attended elementary and secondary school in Allhartsberg before he switched to the agricultural college in Gießhübl . He graduated from school from 1977 to 1980 and completed his agricultural apprenticeship in 1981 with the skilled worker examination. From June 30, 1980, Kasser worked in the Ybbstaler fruit processing department and on January 1, 2004, moved to the Allhartsberg community as a contract employee. Kasser operates part-time farming with 10,000 broiler chickens.

In addition to his political commitment, Kasser was a member of the Kröllendorf-Wallmersdorf volunteer fire brigade for several years, headed the local folk dance group between 1980 and 1981 and was a parish councilor in Allhartsberg between 1983 and 1990.

Kasser has been a member of Allhartsberg's municipal council since 1990 and was elected mayor in 1995. In addition, since 2000 he has been a member of the board and the executive committee of the ÖVP in the Amstetten district. After Johann Heuras moved to the state government, Kasser succeeded him on February 26, 2009 as a member of the state parliament. According to his own statements, the main focuses of his political activities are waste management, air pollution control and a geographical information system. Kasser also focuses on the areas of alternative energy and the environment. Kasser is a member of the farmers' union and district chairman of the Ybbstal farmers. Kasser also represents the districts of Amstetten, Scheibbs and Melk on the Presidium of the Lower Austrian Waste Management Association.

In addition, he has been chairman of the community association for environmental protection in the Amstetten region since 2000.
