Erich Königsberger (born February 5, 1956 in Ober-Grafendorf ) is an Austrian police officer and politician ( FPÖ ). Königsberger has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2008 . In 2013 and 2017 he was a member of the Austrian Federal Council delegated by the Lower Austrian Parliament .

Life

Königsberger attended a secondary school after elementary school, before he switched to a higher technical college and finally graduated from a commercial vocational school. He then completed an apprenticeship at the police training center and works as a duty police officer in Vienna.

Since 2000 he has been local party chairman of the FPÖ Ober-Grafendorf and was elected district party chairman St. Pölten Land in the same year. Since 2002 he has been district party chairman of St. Pölten city and country. In addition, Königsberger has been a member of the state party leadership since 2000, a member of the state party executive since 2001 and a member of the federal party leadership since 2008. He represented the FPÖ from 2000 to 2005 in the local council of Ober-Grafendorf and has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since April 10, 2008. Königsberger was security spokesman for the FPÖ state parliament club and deputy chairman in the transport committee. In addition, Königsberger is the spokesman for justice, national defense, the public service, civil servants, animal welfare, transport matters, ÖBB, ethnic groups and displaced persons.

In September 2016, Erich Königsberger had a negative impact on an alcohol trip with 2 per thousand alcohol in his blood. He drove drunk from a party meeting of the FPÖ from Krems to St. Pölten and mistook the cycle path for the road. He then lost his post as security and traffic spokesman for the FPÖ state parliament club. In November 2017, Königsberger was nominated for the Federal Council.

Königsberger lives in Ober-Grafendorf. He is married and has one daughter.
