Georg Ecker (born April 22, 1986 in Hollabrunn ) is an Austrian politician of the Greens . Since March 2018 he has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

Georg Ecker attended the Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium Hollabrunn , where he graduated in 2004 . He then began studying economics at the University of Vienna , which he completed in 2010 with a master's degree. In 2009 he completed a semester abroad at the University of Copenhagen . From 2010 he studied journalism and new media at FHWien , graduating in 2012 with a Master of Arts (MA). Parallel to his studies, he worked as a journalist for the Niederösterreichische Nachrichten (NÖN) in Hollabrunn from 2005 to 2012 , and from 2011 to 2014 he was a lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics for Advanced Microeconomics . From 2012 to 2016 he was employed by Rundfunk- und Telekom Regulierungs-GmbH (RTR) and has been a freelance programmer since 2016.

politics

Georg Ecker was one of the co-founders of the Green Youth of Lower Austria in 2004 . In the state elections in 2008 , he ran for the Greens, but did not make it. In the state elections in 2018 , he ran behind Helga Krismer-Huber in second place on the state list. On March 22, 2018 he was in the constituent state parliament session of the XIX. Legislative term as Member of the state parliament of Lower Austria sworn in . His focal points include education, Europe, culture, youth, network politics and economy. In the 2020 municipal council elections, he ran as the top candidate for the Greens in Hollabrunn .
