Helga Krismer (born September 18, 1972 in Kufstein , Tyrol ) is an Austrian veterinarian , politician ( The Greens ) and Vice Mayor of the municipality of Baden . Krismer has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2003 and has been a club or (since 2018) parliamentary group leader of the Greens in the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2014 . In 2015, Helga Krismer took over from Madeleine Petrovic the role of state spokeswoman for the Green Lower Austria.

Life

Krismer attended a federal high school , which she graduated with the Matura . She then studied veterinary medicine , did her doctorate and moved into the Baden municipal council in 2000. She has been the chairwoman of the green association of community representatives since 2005. Since April 24, 2003, she has also represented the Greens in the Lower Austrian state parliament.

Krismer has been Vice Mayor of Baden since 2010. In September 2016 Kurt Staska announced his resignation as Mayor of Badner, while Deputy Mayor Helga Krismer temporarily took over the business.

Since 2015 she has succeeded Madeleine Petrovic as state spokeswoman for the Greens in Lower Austria .

In the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 , the Greens and top candidate Krismer received 6.43% of the votes (- 1.6% compared to the last election ). On February 2, 2018, one day after the official final results of the state elections in Lower Austria 2018 were announced, the Lower Austrian Greens examined a contestation of the state elections at the Constitutional Court (VfGH) due to the new regulation of the right to vote for Lower Austrian second home owners as well as what Krismers said was "arbitrary Decision "of the respective mayor on electoral permits. On March 1, 2018, Krismer announced that the state election would not be contested.

In April 2018, Krismer was confirmed as state spokeswoman for the Greens with a majority of 87.5 percent of the votes. In May 2020, Krismer was re-elected as state spokeswoman with a majority of 86 percent of the vote.
