Alfredo Rosenmaier (born December 24, 1950 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and mayor of Ebenfurth .

Rosenmaier was a member of the Federal Council , has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2003 and was the third president there from 2008 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018 he was club chairman of his party in the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

Rosenmaier attended elementary and secondary school in Pottendorf and an HTL for two years. He then learned the profession of measurement and control technician, attended the Stockerau vocational school and, after passing the skilled worker examination, the foreman school in Wiener Neustadt. From 1966 to 2001 Rosenmaier worked at Semperit in Traiskirchen as a radiation protection officer as well as a measurement and control technician and from 1990 in a managerial position.

Rosenmaier lives in Ebenfurth, is married and has two daughters and a son.

politics

Rosenmaier was elected to the municipal council of the municipality of Ebenfurth in 1980 and held the office of city council from 1985. He has been mayor and GVV chairman in the Wiener Neustadt district since 1996. He represented the SPÖ from January 9, 2002 to April 23, 2003 in the Federal Council and was sworn in as a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag on April 24, 2003. On April 14, 2008, he also took over the office of Third President of the State Parliament, and on April 24, 2013, he switched to the position of SPÖ club chairman. In March 2018 he was succeeded by the previous country manager Reinhard Hundsmüller .
