Franz Mold

Franz Mold (born February 18, 1962 in Zwettl ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). He has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2008 . On October 9, 2018, he was elected mayor of Zwettl to succeed Herbert Prinz .

Life

After finishing elementary and secondary school, Mold attended the polytechnic course and from 1977 to 1980 the Edelhof vocational school . In 1980 he passed the agricultural skilled worker examination and in 1984 the examination to become an agricultural master. As a result, Mold took over his parents' farm and has been working as a farmer in Jahrings ever since .

Mold was politically active as chairman of the Lower Austrian rural youth and held numerous functions in the Austrian farmers' union. Among other things, he was regional chamber councilor from 1990 to 2005 and has been district chairman of the farmers' union and chairman of the district chamber of farmers in Zwettl since 1995. In Zwettl, Mold has represented the ÖVP on the local council since 1995 and has also been the district chairman of the ÖVP since 1998. In 2006 Mold was elected to the city council of Zwettl, since April 10, 2008 he has represented the ÖVP in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
