Josef Edlinger (born December 4, 1969 in Felling ) is an Austrian farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). Edlinger is married and has been a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament since 2008 .

Edlinger attended elementary school in Gföhl from 1976 to 1980 and from 1980 to 1984 the secondary school in Gföhl. He then switched to the Edelhof Agricultural College, which he graduated in 1988 as an “agricultural skilled worker”. In addition, Edlinger completed his training as a forestry worker in 1995 and as a forest gardener and forest care worker in 1996. Edlinger has also been a forestry master since 2007. Edlinger took over the family business in 1991, which he has been running ever since.

Edlinger was district chairman of the Lower Austrian rural youth from 1991 to 1993 and then from 1993 to 1995 the regional advisory board of the rural youth for the Waldviertel. He has been a member of the municipal council since 1995 and was a member of the city council from 1997 to 2005. In addition, he was regional chamber councilor in the Lower Austria Chamber of Agriculture from 2000 to 2005, is the municipality chairman of the farmers' union, member of the regional farmers council and deputy ÖVP district chairman. Edlinger has also been chairman of the Krems District Chamber of Farmers since 2005 and has represented the ÖVP in the state parliament since April 10, 2008, after he ran for second place on the Krems ÖVP district list in the 2008 state elections .
