Norbert Sinn

Norbert Sinn (born August 19, 1953 in Vienna ) is an officer in the Austrian Armed Forces with the rank of major general . Most recently he was in command of the Theresian Military Academy .

Life

Norbert Sinn was born on August 19, 1953 in Vienna and joined the Army Reconnaissance Battalion in 1975 after graduating from the Theresian Military Academy. 1982 to 1985 he completed the general staff course . He was then entrusted with operational management, comprehensive national defense, state crisis management and issues relating to the protection of cultural property in the management department of the national defense ministry.

He was also the commander of the 3rd Panzer Artillery Battalion in Allentsteig .

In 1995, Norbert Sinn became head of the adjutant office in the Federal Ministry for National Defense and Sport, and from spring 2001 the general staff officer was appointed chief of staff of the Austrian military mission in Brussels. In September 2001 he became adjutant to the Austrian Federal President Thomas Klestil .

On November 29, 2003, he took over command of the Theresian Military Academy from his predecessor General Karl-Heinz Fitzal .

In 2013 he retired.
