Doris Schmidl (* 25. December 1969 in St. Poelten as Doris Dangl ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. She has been a member of the Lower Austria state parliament since 2013 .

education and profession

Schmidl attended kindergarten in her home town of St. Margarethen an der Sierning and also attended the local elementary school there. She moved to the secondary school in Ober-Grafendorf and subsequently continued her education at the agricultural college in Sooss and at the agricultural college in Tullnerbach. In addition, she successfully passed the master’s examination for agriculture and the master’s examination for housekeeping.

Schmidl took over his parents' farm in 1989 and married in 1993. Their daughter was born in 1995 and their son in 1996. She lives in Kleinsierning .

Politics and functions

Schmidl took over the role of community farmer in 1998 and in the same year became treasurer of the working group of women farmers. In 2003 she was elected as the farmer's association and in 2005 she was sworn in as the executive councilor in St. Margarethen. In addition, she has been a member of the St. Pölten District Chamber of Agriculture since 2005. She has been a board member of the ÖVP district party St. Pölten since 2007 and ran for the state elections in Lower Austria in 2008. Since 2012 she has also been a certified energy officer for the community. Schmidl ran again for the Austrian People's Party in the state elections in Lower Austria in 2013 and was ranked second in the St. Pölten state electoral district . After the ÖVP won two direct mandates in the constituency in the state elections as well as in the previous elections, Schmidl was able to move in as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament in 2013. It was sworn in on April 24, 2013 in the state parliament.

According to their own statements, their political priorities include the areas of local supply, expansion of kindergarten and school places, care for people in need of care at home, rural development; Family-friendly jobs and the expansion of alternative energies.
