Albert Royer
Albert Royer (born 1973) is an Austrian politician of the FPÖ . He was sworn in as a member of the Styrian state parliament on June 16, 2015 .
Political career
Roer started his political career in the community of Mitterberg , where he was active on the local council. Most recently he held the post of Vice Mayor until the independent municipality was dissolved on December 31, 2014.
On April 5, 2013, Royer was elected district chairman of the FPÖ in the Liezen district.
For the 2013 National Council election , Royer was ranked seventh on the Styrian state list. After the FPÖ in Styria increased by 6.7 percent to 24.0 percent on September 29, Royer's entry into the National Council already seemed certain. The disappointment followed only one day later, because after the postal votes had been evaluated, there was a shift from a regional district to a state list mandate, which allowed the controversial Susanne Winter - she was convicted of hatred and degradation of religious teachings - to move into the National Council again.
In his initial disappointment, Royer thought of resigning. The turnaround was brought about by the Styrian party chairman Gerhard Kurzmann , who announced on November 15, 2013 at a meeting of the district party leadership of the FPÖ Liezen that he would be the top candidate for the district in the next state election in 2015.
For the 2015 state elections , Royer was ranked fourth in constituency 4 (Bruck-Mürzzuschlag, Leoben, Liezen, Murau and Murtal) behind Mario Kunasek , Hannes Amesbauer and Marco Triller . Thanks to the great success of the FPÖ in the election with the achievement of 14 mandates, Royer could no longer be accepted into the state parliament. He was sworn in on June 16, 2015.
In the state parliament, Royer is a member of the committees for Europe (European integration and development policy), agriculture (agriculture and forestry) and petitions.
Private
Royer is married and runs a farm in Mitterberg. He also runs the Lechnerhof guest house and holiday home.
